Hi, I located a firecrest at 14:10 today 01/12/09 following your excellent directions. It was located just into the start of the footpath in a yew tree which although in the garden of the first house over hangs the wooded area, the yew tree is situated just before a new run of fence and just after a new piece of trellis.
ReplyDeleteThe bird was actively feeding but giving excellent close views, it then flew across the footpath and continued to feed in trees and scrub.
Thanks again,
AMP
Hi Andrew. It's great that you saw one of them. It's interesting that you saw one at that part of the footpath. I usually see them very late in the day, after school so maybe they use other areas during the day time, and are coming into roost by the time I'm there?
